Farooq Sattar statement

MQM-P senior leader Farooq Sattar strongly criticized the removal of Kamran Tessori from the Sindh governor’s position. He spoke to the media in Karachi on Thursday. Sattar said the decision shocked the party leadership. He added that the federal government did not consult MQM-P before taking this step. Therefore, the party now views the development as a serious political issue.

Sattar said the removal sent a clear political signal to MQM-P. He claimed the federal government no longer needed the party’s support. According to him, the move reflected the government’s current political priorities. As a result, MQM-P leaders started reviewing the situation carefully.

Sattar revealed that party leaders learned about the decision through media reports. He said the government gave them no prior notice. He also said officials did not discuss the matter with MQM-P leadership. Consequently, the development caused concern inside the party ranks.

Sattar mentioned that MQM-P chairman Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also received the news through media coverage. He stressed that the government should have consulted coalition partners. He argued that such decisions weaken trust between political allies. Therefore, MQM-P leaders felt ignored in the process.

Sattar directly linked the decision to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. He said the action delivered a clear political message. According to Sattar, the message suggested the government did not need MQM-P anymore. He warned that the party could not ignore such signals.

Sattar said the party would not rush into an immediate reaction. Instead, MQM-P leaders will discuss the issue after Ramadan. They plan to hold internal consultations before announcing any official decision. Meanwhile, party members continue to debate possible responses.

Sattar stressed that MQM-P considers the issue a “red line.” He reminded that the Sindh governorship was part of an agreement with Pakistan Muslim League (N). The agreement was made when MQM-P joined the federal coalition government. Therefore, the party may now review its participation in the ruling alliance.
